IWA Australia Ltd is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that was established in 1991 to address the unmet needs of the Culturally & Linguistically Diverse community in Brisbane specifically Muslim women and their families.
Since then, IWA has grown from strength to strength, providing services in areas like settlement, aged care, disability, respite, and community development and DFV serving communities nationally with offices in various cities across Australia.
IWA Australia offers a support service known as Salam Safe House (SSH). SSH provides a refugee for women.
We offer mobile support and health and wellbeing services to women and children from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds who are experiencing Domestic and Family Violence

Crisis Accommodation
SSH provides safe shelter for women and children from CALD backgrounds in Logan LGA who lack secure housing due to Domestic and Family Violence (DFV ). Refer below to check requirements for eligibility.
Mobile Support
SSH supports CALD women and children experiencing DFV within their homes, ensuring safety and preventing homelessness by:
- Maintaining safety from DFV
- Preventing loss of tenancy or maintaining tenancies
- Reducing risk of homelessness
Health and Wellbeing Programs
Our programs offer trauma-informed holistic programs in a culturally sensitive format and collaborates with human services agencies to access comprehensive support, aiding in long-term crisis recovery and fostering independence.
